Global Political Engagement and Transparency

Twitter is a global communications platform with users, offices, and employees around the world. Our public policy team routinely meets with government representatives about a wide range of issues that impact our operations and our users in different countries.

As we engage in debates and discussions in order to further our public policy goals, we want to be transparent about our activities. This includes the support we give to professional and public interest organizations that help inform our work, augment our ability to be heard from the grassroots to the halls of power, and advance the interest of our users.

LOBBYING

As the company grows, it has become even more important to advocate for or against policies, as appropriate, that could affect our platform and our users. Twitter has registered lobbyists in Washington, D.C. who work on issues reflecting Twitter’s interests such as Internet freedom, national security surveillance reform, ECPA reform and patent litigation reform.
